Here’s a small yet striking specimen featuring two light-purplish amethyst quartz crystals perched elegantly on a matrix fragment! These Mexican amethysts were long referred to as coming from “Las Vigas”, a name that became quite popular among collectors due to its catchy sound and the quality of the material. However, it is now understood that the mines producing these specimens are actually located near the village of Piedra Parada in Veracruz. Overall, this is a classic Veracruz amethyst with excellent balance, great colour, superb lustre and strong aesthetic appeal!
