Fine, hair-like dark red kermesite crystals on matrix. Some of the kermesite crystals remain partially enclosed within the calcite vein that was once cutting through the host rock. This antimony sulfide specimen comes from Pezinok, Slovakia, an area whose antimony deposits are known among mineral collectors for having produced some of the finest examples of this species!
