Description

A dominant, lustrous black schorl crystal exhibits a well-developed hexagonal form, with a termination composed of numerous smaller acicular crystals. Several small, apple-green fluorite crystals are attached to both the prism and the termination. Enhancing the specimen’s aesthetic appeal, a beautiful muscovite rosette is perched at the top, nestled among the acicular crystals. Some experts who have studied comparable specimens from this locality suggest that the acicular crystals may in fact be foitite. However, foitite can only be reliably distinguished from schorl through detailed analytical work.
