Description
Campylite derives its name from the Greek word kampyli, meaning “curve”, in reference to the distinctive curved, barrel-shaped habit of mimetite from the Dry Gill mine in Cumberland. This specimen features several caramel-colored aggregates of campylite perched on their host rock. Their rich color and excellent luster contrast beautifully with the black oxides coating the matrix, creating an aesthetic and pleasing composition. A classic piece from a classic locality.
