Description
A specimen of gypsum and smithsonite from the Lavrio mining district in Greece. The smithsonite forms minute globular aggregates, upon which rests a transparent prismatic crystal of gypsum. Under magnification, several spherical inclusions—likely hematite—can be observed trapped within the gypsum crystal. A highly aesthetic and well-balanced specimen.
