Description
A specimen of smithsonite from the Lavrio mining district in Greece. The smithsonite forms botryoidal, cryptocrystalline aggregates of a pale bluish-grey color and exhibits an outstanding pearly lustre. It develops on a piece of black and oxidized matrix, and on the reverse side, remnants of cleaved fluorite can still be seen attached onto it.
