Description
A pseudomorph from the White Desert near Farafra, Egypt. In this remarkable specimen, goethite has completely replaced marcasite while perfectly preserving the original crystal form of the precursor mineral. Intricate growth patterns and fascinating surface features can be admired throughout the piece. Also notice the subtle polish on the crystal surfaces which is the natural result of countless years of sandblasting by wind-driven desert sands!
