Description
A specimen of prase quartz from Serifos, Greece. Measuring over 9 cm, this exceptional piece features a beautiful and unusual asymmetrical “bowtie” formation, with one end growing approximately three times larger than the other. The specimen exhibits excellent crystallization and a striking natural sheen, created by the countless smaller crystals that catch and reflect the light as the piece is turned in the hand. Under strong illumination, the quartz shows a good degree of translucency, revealing delicate, needle-like inclusions responsible for its distinctive green coloration. An exceptionally attractive example of prase quartz, combining an unusual crystal habit, excellent crystallization, and visible internal inclusions.
