Description
A specimen of dolomite from the Madem-Lakkos mine in Chalkidiki, Greece. The piece features several euhedral, pink dolomite rhombs set on a matrix of massive sulfides. The largest crystal measures approximately 2 cm on edge, while all of the dolomite rhombs fluoresce a fiery reddish-orange under longwave UV. A beautiful specimen from a fully exploited and now repurposed mine, making well-preserved material from this locality increasingly difficult to come by.
