Description
A specimen of glaucocerinite from its type locality, the Kamariza mines of Lavrio, Greece. Here, delicate botryoidal aggregates of glaucocerinite form a rich encrustation over a piece of brown gossan matrix. The mineral displays a beautiful waxy lustre, which complements its characteristic blue coloration. The intensity of the blue varies subtly across the specimen, producing an attractive interplay of lighter and deeper tones and contrasting beautifully with the warm, oxidized brown of the underlying matrix.
