Description
A specimen of amethyst quartz from Dasoto, in Kato Nevrokopi, Greece. This piece is an excellent example of the beautiful crystals from this locality. The specimen features an aggregate of amethyst quartz, with the crystals arranged side by side and displaying an unusual doubly terminated appearance. The upper termination shows four distinct tips, while the lower termination displays roughly half as many. The coloration is particularly interesting, with the cores of the crystals appearing cloudy or nebulous, gradually transitioning toward the terminations into a beautiful purple hue. The vitreous lustre further enhances the contrast and overall visual appeal of the specimen. Overall, a superb example of amethyst quartz from this Greek locality.
