Description
A showy specimen featuring two amethyst crystals perched and rising from a matrix of alkali feldspar and quartz! Graphic texture (an intergrowth of quartz with alkali feldspar) is visible at the base of the specimen, and numerous circular hematite inclusions can be seen inside the amethysts. Another interesting feature is that many of the hematite inclusions “straddle” the boundaries of the crystal faces; as a result, some have fallen off, leaving behind a fascinating pitted texture on the surfaces of the amethysts!
