Description

A great specimen featuring a dominant pyrite from the world famous Huanzala mine in Peru! Some smaller pyrite octahedrons are sitting aesthetically on top of the main pryite! As a bonus, an accessory unidentified white clayey mineral can be found attached at the base of the specimen! This mineral exhibits no reactivity to hydrochloric acid, thereby excluding calcite as a plausible identification. The miner of the specimen has posited it as crandallite although this assertion must be treated with care as no definite analysis has been undertaken to the extent of our knowledge.
