Description

Antigorite is a mineral that can be as common as the ophiolite occurences on Earth’s crust. But gemmy antigorite?! Well, that’s surely not something you come across very often! This is a great specimen of a translucent antigorite flake! When backlit, either against the sun or with a flashlight, an amazing deep emerald green color appears! Furthermore, tectonic compressional forces have acted upon it creating very smooth surfaces! A very unique and interesting mineralogical item!
