Description
This is a rather unusual specimen of ruby corundum exhibiting hexagonal crystal structure! In this remote Greek locality, rubies are found as elongated crystals following the metamorphic foliation and such hexagonal crystals are really scarce to find! Notice that it is hard to capture on camera the hexagonal shape due to the small size – better appreciated in hand! Found in spring of 2023.
