Description
Among the myriad specimens produced by the iconic Tsumeb mine in Namibia, galena appears to be relatively scarce. What adds further interest to this specimen—particularly from a geochemical perspective—is the presence of translucent cerussite, the weathering product of galena, forming a compelling primary–secondary mineral association. A rather uncommon specimen from what many consider to be the most famous mineral locality on Earth!
