Description
Here’s a beautiful specimen from the Madan ore district in Bulgaria! Intergrown galena and sphalerite are prominently developed, accompanied by minor chalcopyrite and pyrite. These sulphides are aesthetically set on a “carpet” of delicate, needle-like quartz crystals. The quartz exhibits an appealing greenish hue, likely due to microscopic chlorite inclusions. Particularly striking are the dissolution patterns on the cubic galena crystals, which display intricate, contour-like curvilinear lines. Overall, this is a superbly balanced and visually captivating specimen, combining the classic Bulgarian sulphide paragenesis with outstanding aesthetics!
