Description
A specimen of azurite from the Schmitt quarry in Germany. The azurite forms delicate aggregates of slender, bladed crystals displaying a deep royal-blue color. These are beautifully complemented by black botryoidal manganese oxides, creating a nice visual contrast. Under magnification, tiny green spherules of malachite can be seen scattered across the azurite. The specimen originates from the locality known to have produced some of Germany’s finest azurite specimens.
