Description
An impressive specimen where several light-purplish amethyst crystals are aesthetically perched on a piece of brecciated and vuggy volcanic matrix. Although two of the crystals are missing their tip, the rest, including the main focal crystal, exhibit very sharp terminations. Overall, the piece exhibits a spectacular vitreous lustre, which is difficult to properly capture on camera, but really pops when viewed in person. The specimen comes from Piedra Parada in Mexico, a locality that is famous for producing some of the finest amethyst crystals.
