Description
A specimen of dolomite from the Madem Lakkos mine in Chalkidiki, Greece. This piece features several dolomite crystals stacked together in an intricate architectural structure. A later druzy carbonate overgrowth coats the first-generation dolomite crystals creating rough-textured surfaces. The dolomite is predominantly white with a delicate pink hue, suggesting the presence of manganese. This is further supported by the specimen’s soft orange fluorescence under longwave ultraviolet light.
