Description
A calcite specimen from Serifos island, Greece. This is a hefty piece of several calcite crystals, the largest of which measures more than 6.5 cm on edge. The crystals are coated with a thin brown layer that displays an attractive silky sheen, while the calcite itself is remarkably clear, as evidenced by the cleavage surfaces visible on the reverse side.
