Description
A specimen of antigorite from Edessa, Greece. Antigorite, a serpentine-group mineral, is typically rather nondescript and often passes unnoticed by collectors. In some cases, however, it can form remarkably attractive specimens, such as this one, displaying a deep green color, delicate sheen, and a pleasing degree of translucency when backlit. Field-collected in February 2022.
